The "For Science!" achievement in ARC Raiders is one of the more unusual challenges in the game. At first glance, it sounds simple-apply three status effects at once. In practice, it requires precise preparation, exact timing, and the right combination of ARC Raiders BluePrints tools.
To unlock it, you must inflict Burn, Gas, and Stun simultaneously on yourself. This is not something that happens naturally during gameplay, so you need to intentionally set up the entire sequence before entering a match.
What You Need to Unlock "For Science!"
There are three essential items required for this achievement:
Jolt Mine (applies Stun)
Gas Grenade (applies Gas)
Blaze Grenade (applies Burn)
Each item is responsible for one status effect, and all three must activate at the same time to trigger the achievement.
Where to Get Each Item
Jolt Mine (Stun effect)
You can purchase this from Apollo in the main hub on a daily rotation, or craft it if you already have the materials. It's the easiest item to obtain and usually the first one players pick up.
Gas Grenade (Gas effect)
Also available from Apollo's shop or craftable depending on your progression. This is a core utility item used in many encounters, so most players will eventually have access to it.
Blaze Grenade (Burn effect)
This one is not sold directly. Instead, it must be crafted at the Explosives Station using:
1 Explosive Compound
2 Oils
Because it requires crafting materials, it may take the longest to prepare.
Step-by-Step Guide to Trigger the Achievement
Once you have all three items ready, queue into any map. You do not need a specific zone or enemy encounter-just an open area where you can safely place items and throw grenades without obstruction.
Before starting, make sure all three items are equipped in your radial menu for quick access. The entire sequence happens fast, and hesitation can cause failure.
Execution Order
Follow this exact sequence:
Place the Jolt Mine at your feet
Position it very close to your character. If it's too far away, it may not trigger properly later.
Throw the Gas Grenade at yourself
This applies the Gas status effect immediately, starting the combination window.
Quickly throw the Blaze Grenade onto the same spot
Aim directly at your position to ensure it overlaps with both you and the mine.
Trigger interaction occurs automatically
The Blaze explosion will detonate the Jolt Mine, applying Stun while Burn and Gas are already active.
If timed correctly, all three effects-Burn, Gas, and Stun-will be active simultaneously, and the achievement will unlock instantly.
Important Tips for Success
The most common mistake players make is spacing. Everything must happen in ARC Raiders Materials a tight 1–2 meter radius around your character. If the mine is too far away or the grenades are misaligned, the chain reaction will fail.
